Direct Payment (DP)
Direct Payments started in the 2002 farm bill (Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002)

The payment formula is as follows: (Old FSA yield x acreage base x 85% x payment rate)

You will receive the payment based on your program crops found on the FSA 156 EZ form. There is no link between this payment and your planting unless you plant vegetable or canning crops.

The payment rates are as follows:

Grain Sorghum: $0.35
Oats: $0.024
Upland Cotton: $0.0667
Rice: $2.35
Soybeans: $0.44
