LRP
Livestock Risk Protection is a pilot program to cover price protection on Fed Cattle, Feeder cattle, and swine in selected states:

LRP-Feeder Cattle CO, IL, IN, IA, KS, MI, MN, MO, NE, NV, ND, OH, OK, SD, TX, UT, WV, WI, WY
LRP- Fed Cattle CO, IL, IN, IA, KS, MI, MN, MO, NE, NV, ND, OH, OK, SD, TX. UT, WV, WI, WY
LRP- Swine CO, IL, IN, IA, KS, MI, MN, MO, NE, NV. ND, OH, OK, SD, TX, UT, WV, WI, WY

LRP product allows individuals to select the number of head, deductible, and insurance period.

The policy period is July 1st to June 30th. A Specific Coverage Endorsement (SCE) is the endorsement that provides the coverage. The premium is due upon approval of SCE. Producer's should plan on maintaining ownership of the livestock up until 30 days prior to the End Date of the SCE. The livestock are insured in the state where grown.

Policy period options are as follows:
Swine - 13,17,21, and 26 week periods.
Fed Cattle 13,17,21,26,30,34,39,43,47, and 52 week periods
Feeder Cattle 21,26,30,34,39,43,47, and 52 week periods

Coverage may not be available under following conditions:
  • Weekends or holidays.
  • If RMA eDAS system is not operational.
  • Futures market prices are not available.
  • Futures do not continue trading at day's end or any other reason specified
    in policy.
  • Insurance underwriting is at capacity.

Indemnity Value
If the Actual Ending Value is less than the coverage price on the SCE end date.
